How Do You Really Know If You’re Close to God?

If someone asked you today, “How close are you to God?”—what would you say?
Most of us measure closeness to God by how much we pray or how often we read our Bible. Those are great, but here’s the real question: What if the truest sign of closeness is how clearly you recognize His voice?
Think about it, many believers pray, many read Scripture, yet still feel like God’s voice is distant or hard to recognize. If that’s been your struggle, you’re not alone.
The truth is this: hearing God’s voice isn’t just a nice spiritual “bonus.” It’s the very heartbeat of your relationship with Him. As your Creator, He knows your deepest purpose. And the only way to live in that purpose is to walk closely enough to hear His direction.
Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” In other words, your spiritual life depends on hearing Him clearly.
So here’s my challenge:
Can you recognize when God is speaking to you?
Do you know how to tell His voice apart from your own thoughts or even distractions around you?
And if He spoke today, would you be confident enough to obey immediately?
